The average rice yield in the south-central region as well in the Central Highlands was an average 6.3 tonnes per hectare this season, an increase of 0.35 tonnes compared to last year, according to the Plant Cultivation Department. The region's output rose 142,000 tonnes this year against last year, as a result of expanding large-scale rice fields and changing crop structures.
