An exhibition of traditional children’s toys will be held at Hanoi’s Kim Son primary school in Son Tay district from September 27-29 during the mid-autumn festival to mark 1000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
Children taking part in the exhibition will be given traditional toys to play with made by craftsmen from 6 villages including Ba Giang kite village, Xuan La sticky rice puppet village, Dan Vien lantern village and Khuong Dinh steel ship maker village.

With a dearth of traditional toys for children Nguyen Thi Huong, director of the Centre for Research and Support for Vietnamese Children (Cenforchil), says they play with imported alternatives. Huong and her staff at Cenforchil plan to establish Viet Nam s first toy museum by early 2012 in Ha Noi. Minh Thu reports.
Many countries in the world have toy museums, while Viet Nam, which has a long history of toy-making, does not have one.
