Vietnam’s U-16 football team has left Vietnam for Uzbekistan to take part in the final of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U16 Championship, which will be held in Tashkent city from October 24th to November 7th.
The young Vietnamese team will play the Japanese team on October 25th, the Australian team on October 27th, and an East Timorese team on October 29th in group C. The two top teams will advance to the quarterfinals.
The semi-finals and the final will be held on November 1st and on November 7th, respectively.
Recently, Vietnamese football players won the ASEAN Football Federation Championship 2010 after wining the Chinese team. They also won the Korean team.
Hoang Van Phuc, the Vietnamese team coach, hopes that his team will be tipped as the favorite at the upcoming tournament.
