This is the first school and disaster-resistant house to be built in Ly Son island, which will accommodate over 200 pupils and can provide safe shelter for approximately 250-300 local residents if natural disasters occur.
The two-storey building will have eight classrooms with a total floor area of 731 square metres and is being built at a total cost of over VND4.6 billion, of which VND2.6 billion has been funded by the Central Region Natural Disaster Prevention and Support Fund, VND1.85 billion funded by the district’s corresponding capital, and 125 tonnes of cement was donated by the Hanoi General Export-Import JSC.
The facility is expected to be completed and begin operating by October.
