(VOV) - 250 exhibitors from 19 countries and territories are showcasing their products at the 9th International Woodworking Industry Fair (Vietnamwood 2011), which opened in Ho Chi Minh City on October 12.
On show are a wide range of products for the manufacture, production and processing of timber and furniture, as well as raw materials, and other industry related goods.
Vietnamwood 2011 is expected to help Vietnamese businesses gain access to advanced wood-processing technologies from developed countries, thus contributing to the development of the sector in the future.
It is also a good opportunity for foreign and domestic businesses to seek new partners and exchange experience in the wood processing industry.
According to Nguyen Ton Quyen, Secretary of the Vietnam Timber and Forest Product Association, timber has always been among the top five sectors for export revenue, earning US$3.4 billion in 2010 and an estimated US$3.8-4 billion in 2011.
The exhibition will run until October 15.
