PANO – Indonesia, the host of the Sea Games 2011, intends to rule out the women’s football event from the coming regional sports tournament.
The Sports Council of ASEAN countries will give the final decision on the issue on February 28th. According to Mr. Hoang Vinh Giang, General Secretary of Vietnam’s Olympic Committee, Vietnam, Myanmar and Thailand will not agree with the host country’s recommendation.
At present, the Vietnamese women’s team are training to prepare for the Olympic qualifying rounds to be held in London from March 18th to 27th.
On February 14th, the team will arrive in Tam Dao for physical training and then go to Taiwan. The Vietnamese team will take part in three friendly matches with teams in Taiwan (China).
