Five wild elephants were found earlier this week in Thanh Duc Commune, Thanh Chuong District, central Nghe An Province.

NGHE AN —

The elephants were reported to have trampled on farmers' fields, causing safety concerns among the local people.

In response, the local authorities sent police and volunteers to scare off the animals. According to the commune's People's Committee, wild elephants are found almost every year in the sparsely populated area 20km from the commune's centre. — VNS
