A strong whirlwind yesterday afternoon wrecked more than 60 houses in the district of Binh Chanh, a suburb of HCM City.
HCM CITY –
The whirlwind hit the district's Vinh Lac A Commune, damaging electric wires and disabling the grid until midnight. Billboards were strewn across the roads and trees were uprooted.
Local people said the whirlwind occurred suddenly after severe rain in the area. Binh Chanh Electricity has already fixed the electric grid.
No one was reported injured or dead after the accident, but many people have lost their homes.
The day before, 15 houses in the central highlands province of Da Lat were also destroyed by a whirlwind. No one was killed or injured.
