The World Bank (WB) has just finished checking the implementation of the project to improve environmental sanitation in the central city of Nha Trang.
After the on-the-spot inspection, WB representatives asked the local authorities to enhance the management of the project in the remaining 3 years and to try to finance some US$ 17 million for the project this year.
Under the earlier signed agreement between WB and Vietnam, WB was to fund nearly US$ 60 million for a project to improve environment in Nha Trang.
However, after the working session with the Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, WB representatives accepted to invest an additional amount of US$ 14.5 million for the project.
An agreement on the additional funding is expected to be signed in May 2011 and it will come into effect in August 2011.
