First runner-up of Miss Vietnam 2010 contest, Vu Thi Hoang My will represent Vietnam at Miss World 2012 beauty pageant from July 18 to August 18 at several venues of Shanghai, Hong Kong, Sanya and Ordos. The coronation night will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Ordos, China.
My, who was born in 1988 in Dong Nai Province, is 171cm tall, 53kg and her vital statistics are 85-65-89. She is a student of RMIT in HCMC and is fluent in a number of foreign languages. She took part in Miss Universe 2011 contest but went home with empty hands. At this year’s beauty contest, My will participate in some challenges of Miss World Top Fitness/ Sport, Miss World Talent, Miss World Dance of the World, Miss World Beauty with a Purpose, Miss World Beach Beauty, Miss World Fashion – Top Model and Miss World Website Presentation. Thus, the beauty is on the progress to prepare the best physical conditions and best body measurements with swimming, body building and free-style wrestling. Furthermore, My will sing a song “I’ve never been to me” by Kenneth William Hirsch & Ron Miller with her piano skills at the talent challenge. She will also prepare presents for charity purposes and books to contribute to Miss World’s library. Designers Le Thanh Hoa, Anh Thu, Chung Thanh Phong and Kelly Bui will prepare costumes for My during the contest.
“I’ll try my best to promote the image of Vietnamese women to the world as well as to bring home the highest achievement. A position on Top 15 or Top 10 will be my target at this year’s contest,” said Vu Hoang My in a statement to the press on Monday.
Miss World 2012 has attracted over 120 countries and territories. One of the new features of this year’s event is the scores of the coronation night will be posted on a digital board right after each contestant’s performance.
