Vote for the Earth!

World leaders are set to discuss new ways to deal with climate change at the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. This new deal will replace the Kyoto Protocol and set new standards for reducing harmful emissions and global warming.

VietNamNet Bridge – If you want to send a message to world leaders at the UN Conference on Climate Change, which will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark from December 7-12, join the Vote for our Earth campaign at www.earthhour.org.vn.

Earth hour activists argue that Copenhagen is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to point the planet in a new direction. But if world leaders aren’t urged to get it right now, it could all go very wrong in the future.

The more votes for Earth received, the stronger the mandate will be to influence a breakthrough result. It's the only outcome that will secure the long term sustainability for the environment and global economy.

Last week, many Vietnamese high-ranking officials, the People’s Committee of the Mekong Delta City of Can Tho and the Danish Embassy showed their support for the Earth at the first forum on climate change in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho.

Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Pham Khoi Nguyen, Chairman of the Government Office Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Chairman of the Can Tho People’s Committee Tran Thanh Man, Danish Ambassador to Vietnam Peter Lysholt Hansen and hundreds of participants at the forum visited website earthhour.org.vn to join the campaign.

From now on, you can also vote for the earth and send a message to world leaders that they should sign a commitment in Copenhagen to protect the human and our planet.
