The road, named after late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet, was officially put into operation after five years of construction.
The seven kilometre long, 50m wide, six lane road links inner-city Can Tho with Can Tho International Airport and was built at a cost of more than VND1.8 trillion (US$86.4 million) sourced from government bonds.
Vo Van Kiet Road is expected to create a foundation to promote and facilitate the socio-economic development of Can Tho city and the Mekong Delta region.
