HANOI – Vietnam Post Corporation (VNPost) in collaboration with global express services provider DHL debuted the new express delivery service VNQuickpost on Wednesday in Hanoi.

At the launching ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Hung said he expected the new service would develop well owing to the partners’ strong brands and experiences.

“With the brand and the strength of DHL along with the extensive and prestigious network of VnPost, I believe VNQuickpost will soon win the hearts of local consumers,” he said.

Yasmin Aladad Khan, vice chairman of DHL in Southeast Asia, said the new service is a perfect combination of global networks and local post offices that will bring convenience to customers.

VNQuickpost is the international express delivery service to be managed by VnPost at home and DHL overseas. The service is available through a widespread network of VnPost with 63 provincial and city post offices and nearly 1,500 transaction points and the global network of DHL connecting over 220 nations and territories.

Besides, the delivery time of the new service is also shorter, with the presence of a 24/7 hot line and a monitoring system allowing customers to keep track of their parcels during the transportation process. For instance, it takes four days to transport airmails from Vietnam to the U.S. but VNQuickpost will help shorten the duration to about two days only.

According to Vinh, prices and quality of VNQuickpost will stay at the moderate level between DHL and EMS services, with the fee amount expected to be 30% higher than that of EMS but more than 20% lower than that of DHL.

At first, DHL and VnPost will deploy the new service in the country’s big provinces and cities of Hanoi, HCMC, Haiphong, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Danang and Quang Nam. After that, the two companies will expand the service to other regions in the country.
