Visiting ‘Ha Long Bay on land’ at weekends

A perfect combination of mountains, islands, the blue sky and clean water

Have you ever heard about a ‘Ha Long Bay on land? It is Thung Nai, a beautiful rural landscape in Cao Phong mountain district, Hoa Binh province, more than 100km North West of Hanoi.

Thung Nai was known for its natural habitat for wildlife animals such as tigers, leopards and deers. With deers making up the largest population in the wifelife, the landscape was given the name Nai, and this piece of land has borne the name since then.

Although deers do not live in the area today, Thung Nai captivates visitors for its fresh air and wild beauty in pristine condition. Looking far from the distance, hundreds of undulating islands of various sizes are bobbing gently up and down on the water of the Da River Reservoir, creating a Ha Long Bay on land.

Thung Nai is an ideal destination for tourists who want to relax and discover the scenic beauty and distinctive culture of the Muong ethnic people.
