The Military team, with four golds, three silvers and four bronzes, came in second, followed by Hai Duong with four golds, two silvers and two bronzes. Hosts Hanoi finished fourth with three gold and six silver medals.
The six-day tournament attracted more than 100 shooters from 11 teams across the country, including the Military, Thanh Hoa, Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, the Ministry of Public Security, Vinh Phuc, Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Nam, Da Nang and Hanoi.
Six national records were set at this year’s tournament. The team from Vinh Phuc earned a record 1,643 points in the U16 boys’ 10m air rifle (60 bullet) event and Hanoi chalked up 1,655 points in the U18 boys’ 10m air pistol team category.
Phan Huu Duc of Hai Duong set a record of 573 points for the best score in the U18 boys’ 10m air rifle (60 bullet) singles event, and Do Thu Trang from Dong Nai scored a record 374 points in the U18 girls’ 10m air pistol competition. Bui Thu Ha of Quang Ninh achieved the highest score in the U16 girls’ 10m air rifle (40 bullet) event with 377 points while Nguyen Thi Van Anh from Hai Duong set a record in the U16 girls’ air pistol contest with 370 points.
