PANO – Viettel, in cooperation with Ba Thuoc District, Thanh Hoa Province, opened Dien Quang Communal Infirmary and Ba Thuoc Radio and Television Station, according to sources from Viettel.

Viettel officials said that the two projects, which cost some VND5billion in aggregate, were funded by the defence telecommunication group under the 30a Programme launched by the Government, in which State economic groups sponsor poor districts across the country to build projects of the social security system.

Local officials said in delight that Dien Quang is a remote commune and its old infirmary was in a very bad condition. With the new one, local people will be better served, they affirmed.

They also said that some villages in the District could not receive radio and television information due to the difficult terrain, and now the Radio and Television Station will meet the long-time demand of local people for latest news, information and entertainment via their radios and TVs.

Reports at the opening ceremony showed that Viettel has supported 2,859 local households to build new homes, equipped Communal People’s Committees and schools with computers and provided thousands of scholarships for poor students over the past three years.
