Mr. Hideaki Omura, the Governor of Aichi prefecture at the event
The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines organised a workshop to introduce a programme entitled “Four countries, one destination” in Nagoya city of Aichi prefecture on Oct. 11 as part of its efforts to promote Vietnam’s image, culture and tourism potential in Japan.
Speaking at the event, Governor of Aichi prefecture Hideaki Omura said that Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Vietnam are attractive destinations to international tourists and Japanese visitors in particular.
Regarding the economic cooperation between Aichi prefecture and Vietnam, the governor said Aichi and the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment signed a memorandum of understanding in 2008 to increase the flow of investment from Aichi prefecture in Vietnam.
Around 60 businesses from Aichi are investing in the Southeast Asian country, he added.
Hideaki Omura expressed his hope that Vietnam Airlines will increase flights between Aichi prefecture and Vietnam in order to boost exchanges between the two countries.
Vietnam Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Phu Binh noted that Japanese tourists to Vietnam would find it easy to travel to Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar via flights of Vietnam Airlines and Japanese airlines.
Two days earlier, Vietnam Airlines also hosted a similar seminar and the Vietnam Roadshow 2011 in Osaka city. Source: VNA
