Vietnam will promote its tourism during Premier League matches and English stadiums from mid October, 2011 to the end of December, 2011, according to the Centre for Culture, Sports and Tourism Promotion.
Accordingly, the slogan and the website of Vietnam’s tourism will be introduced at 12 matches of the Premier League, where well-known clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal play.
In addition, posters and clips on Vietnam’s tourism will be shown on and installed in 60 English football and rugby stadiums within one month.
The Director of the Centre, Tran Nhat Hoang, said that the involved Vietnamese agencies have signed contracts with the English partner of Sports Revolution. “This is the first time the Vietnamese tourism sector has promoted tourism in this way.”
The promotion of Vietnam’s tourism in English sport events after advertising Vietnam’s tourism on English taxies and in local travel magazines is to pave way for the opening of the direct air route between Vietnam and Britain at the beginning of December this year, officials said.
According to the Guardian, Vietnam ranked fifth among the most favourite destinations for British tourists.
