There were 33.4 million internet users in January, but that number decreased by 800,000 to 32.6 million in February and continued to fall by 500,000 in March.
The overall statistics show that the number of internet users in Vietnam has been gradually decreasing.
The number of new telephone subscribers in the first quarter of 2012 is estimated at 2.6 million, up 35.3% compared to the same period last year, including 7,600 wired telephone subscribers, accounting for 35.4%, and 2.5 million mobile subscribers, up 36.4% compared to 2011.
By the end of March, the total number of telephone subscribers across the country was approximately 134 million, up 3% from last year’s figure, including 15.3 million wired telephone subscribers, down 1.6%, and 118.7 million mobile subscribers, a rise of 3.6%.
The net revenue of posts and telecommunications in the first quarter of 2012 is estimated to reach VND32,600 billion (nearly US$1.6 billion), nearly 18% more than in 2011.
