Vietnamese wins second prize at int’l PC case modification contest

A Vietnamese has won second prize in an international online computer-case modifying contest, VnExpress reported Thursday.

According to the newswire, Nguyen Dinh Ban received 273 out of 4,000 votes cast in the contest held by world-famous forum bit-tech.net and sponsored by Intel and Lamptron as well as others.

Ban’s ROG Rampage received only 20 less votes than first prize winner, L3p D3sk - Silent Workstation by Peter Brands, it said, adding that 24 competitors from across the world participated in the contest.

With “one of the most distinctive looks” and “plenty of unusual features” the design previously also won the monthly forum contest in July, VnExpress reported. The winning case was placed diagonally at a 45-degree angle, featuring primarily red and black.

It said before the contest, Ban was already famous in computer-case modifying circles within Vietnam with the nickname nhenhophach (amber spider).
