Nhan Dan - The Son La Provincial Museum held a ceremony to hand over a memorial for the 83rd Regiment of the Vietnamese Volunteer Army in Laos to the Dong Sang Commune People’s Committee in Moc Chau district on March 26.

The memorial site is located on 1,299 square metres in Ang village where the Regiment was stationed 46 years ago.

The 83rd Regiment gained much recognition for supporting the Laos army forces during the war in Laos and has also been awarded the title of “People’s Armed Forces Hero” twice.

The memorial, which is classed as a historical, cultural relic by the Son La provincial People’s Committee, is a tourist attraction that will help the younger generations learn more about their nation’s history and its previous revolutionary traditions.
