Vietnam’s Olympic team arrived in London on July 10 to start their preparations for the 2012 summer games, the 30th in modern times.
They were welcomed by Vietnamese Ambassador Vu Quang Minh, Charge d’affaires Bui Duc Minh and other representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in London.
The athletes will attend an intensive training camp at Bradford College in the run up to the games.
The organising board at the Olympics has also provided nearly 40,000 USD to support the Vietnamese team during their stay in the UK.
The opening ceremony for the Olympics Games will be held in London on July 27.
The 18 Vietnamese athletes who qualified for the 2012 Olympics will compete in 11 sports, including track and fields events, swimming, gymnastics, shooting and weightlifting.
This is the largest team that Vietnam has ever sent to an Olympic Games so far.
