Vietnamese students bring home precious medals

Inventions by Vietnamese students have won various valuable medals at the International Youth Invention Exhibition 2012 (IYIE 2012) in Taiwan, from February 10 th to 13 th .

Specifically, three gold medals went to three inventions, Mini Calculator 2.0 and Phone Directory 3.0, by Ta Ngoc Linh from High School of Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and Fingerprint Recognition Software by Le Hoang Anh from the University of Danang.

In addition to the three above medals, the Vietnamese delegation, led by Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh, Associate-Professor and Rector of the University of Engineering and Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, brought home five silver and three bronze medals.

This was the first time the Vietnamese delegation took part in an IYIE.

IYIE 2012 was attended by hundreds of U-20 students from countries and territories in the world, with a large number of inventions which came from Australia, Canada, China, the Republic of Korea and Thailand.
