(VOV) - A Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) has officially been established in Belgium thanks to the support of the Vietnamese embassy in Brussels.
Addressing the first congress of the Association on March 26, Vietnamese Ambassador to Belgium Pham Sanh Chau called on Vietnamese students to work hard for good academic results, strengthen solidarity and make practical contributions to the national construction and defence of their homeland.
Participants at the event discussed and adopted reports of Vietnamese students’ activities in Belgium and mapped out plans for the VSA in the 2011-2013 term. The Association will focus on consolidating unity and protecting the legitimate rights of Vietnamese students in Belgium.
The VSA, which has about 200 members studying for MA and doctorate degrees, will set up a website and create forums for Vietnamese students to share information, apply for scholarships, search for jobs and participate in cultural and sporting events in Belgium.
