Two Vietnam’s chess players, Le Quang Liem and Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son, continued winning in the first-leg of the 1/32 round at the on-going World Chess Cup 2011 on August 31st in Russia.
Accordingly, Le Quang Liem defeated the host country’s player Boris Grachev (Elo 2680) after 57 moves. The match between two players was shown live with comments on the tournament’s home page chessdom.com.
Another Vietnamese player, Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son, tied with his Russian rival Peter Svidle after 21 moves.
In the second-leg held on the evening of September 1st, both Quang Liem and Truong Son will have advantages over their rivals by taking the white pawns.
