Two men belonging to ethnic minority communities and a teenager in northern Vietnam were caught Friday in the act of smuggling more than ten kilograms of heroin into the country through the Laos border.
The three are natives of Hoa Binh Province. One of them is 17 years old and the others are in their forties.
Investigators from the Ministry of Public Security said the three were involved in a sophisticated drug trafficking ring that operates in a large area covering Hanoi and five nearby provinces.
They said investigations into the ring will continue.
