VGP - The ten-day Vietnamese Goods Week was launched at Geant Casino Paris, marking the first presence of made-in-Việt Nam goods in the retail sale system in France.
Mr. Đặng Hoàng Hải, Head of the European Market Department under the Industry and Trade Ministry, said the event made Vietnamese enterprises’ dream become true.
The move helped Vietnamese goods be introduced to big distributors in Europe, said Hải, who headed the Vietnamese delegation to the event.
On the other hand, the event enabled Vietnamese enterprises to understand specific taste of French and European consumers.
The economic and financial turmoil in Europe has not affected Việt Nam’s export to the market. Export turnover still expanded by around 20%, higher than the preset target.
However, the economic turmoil would have comprehensive impacts on European customers in the long term, forcing them to buy goods at reasonable prices.
Vietnamese exporters need to seize any opportunities they have to sell reasonably priced products to the market.
Mr. Hải revealed that similar Vietnamese Goods Week will take place in Frankfurt, Germany.
He said similar events will be held in Asian markets like China and the Republic of Korea./.
