Vietnamese films to compete in 16th Asian Film Festival

A scene from "Mua len trau". The seven films that reflect German life are “Between on Monday and Tomorrow” (1947), “The Lost One” (1951), “Women’s Destiny” (1952), “Sky without Stars” (1955), “The Hooligans” (1956), “Berlin, Schönhauser Street” (1957) and “Different from Me and You” (1957).

VietNamNet Bridge – To mark German Year in Vietnam and the 60 year history of German cinema, seven German post war films are being screened at the Goethe Institute in Hanoi until January 31, Tuoi Tre reports.

Free tickets are available at the Goethe Institute, 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Hanoi.

* The 16th Asian Film Festival, known as the oldest Asian film festival in Europe, will be held in Vesoul City, France from January 26 to February 2 with the attendance of 80 films, Lao Dong reports.

The Vietnamese documentary entries are Ban toi (My Friend) by director Trinh Le Van, Chi Dung (Ms. Dung) by Dao Ba Son, Chu be cu ly (Coolie Boy) by Pham Nhue Giang, Ha Noi co cau Long Bien (Hanoi’s Long Bien Bridge) by Pham Cuong, Khoc muon (Hired Cry) and Nguoi o tran (Bare Person) by Phuong Lan, and Thay Duc (Teacher Duc) by Nguyen Trinh Thi.

In the program called Human and Nature, there are two selected Vietnamese films, Nhung nguoi tho xe (Sawyers) by Vuong Duc and Mua len trau (The Buffalo Boy) by Nguyen Vo Nghiem Minh.
