(VOV) - A Vietnamese party delegation led by Thinh Giang, Deputy Editor in Chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, attended the 6th congress of the Party of Italian Communists (PdCI) in Rimini from October 28-30.
At the meeting with PdCI Secretary General Oliviero Diliberto the delegation conveyed a message of greetings from the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) to the congress.
Mr Diliberto praised the remarkable achievements made by the Vietnamese people during the renewal process and expressed his wish to strengthen cooperation between the two parties in exchanging information and delegations to share experience in party building.
The congress draws the participation of 500 delegates representing the party’s 35,000 members across Italy and 45 international delegations.
The Secretary General reviewed the activities of the PdCI in the last term and set its main tasks in the next term.
Despite difficulties caused by the public debt crisis to the workers, the PdCI has taken the lead in the fight against unjust policies of the ruling party to protect their rights.
In the coming time, the PdCI should focus on building party and promoting international cooperation with communists, workers and leftist forces.
Mr Diliberto was reelected Secretary General of the party.
