Vietnamese people living and working in Japan attended a lecture on Japanese literature delivered by Professor Dao Huu Dung on April 15 in Japan’s capital Tokyo.
During his lecture, Dung gave a presentation on the methods that he had used to study Japanese history and literature and introduced some of his own work as well as papers written by other academics.
With Dung’s comprehensive knowledge of Japanese history and literature, the three-hour lecture gave the audience an overall and summarised picture of Japanese literature during specific historical periods, as well as discussed various authors and publications.
The First Secretary for Culture and Education at the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, Do Van Trung, praised Dung’s work. He said he hoped that the professor will continue to promote cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Japan as cultural and academic links help strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between the two countries.
Professor Dung graduated in Japan and has lectured in several universities in France and Japan. He is now is a consultant for the Japan-Vietnam Cultural Association.
