Vietnam wins one of top 10 international prizes for short films

The Vietnamese film “Visitor” about a foreigner singing a Vietnamese song “I love you, grandmother” was listed in the top 10 of the Asia-Europe Short Films Awards 2012 (AESF).

With the theme to connect Asia and Europe, the contest is held to welcome 15 th founding anniversary of AESF, and to seek young film-making talents in Asia and Europe.

AESF received 101 short films with a duration of less than 3 minutes from 46 countries. The film “Visitor” of Nguyen Le Hoang Viet, a student of the National Economics University, is listed in the top 10 and is expected to be honored on May 17 th in Singapore.

This film is based on the thought of Asia-Europe interference. Viet’s inspiration to make the film is his love for his grandmother who just passed away before he could make the film.
