The Hanoitimes - All eight Vietnamese students won medals at the 13th Asian Physics Olympiad in India last week, an event that drew the participation of competitors from 21 countries. In this contest, the Vietnamese delegation has achieved one gold medal, five silver and two bronze ones.
Last year, the Vietnam ’s delegation obtained two bronze medals and three certificates of merit at the 12th APhO.
The 13th APhO was jointly organized by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers and the Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education (HBCSE) in New Delhi from May 1-7. The event attracts the attendance of students from 21 countries all over the world.
Le Huy Quang, a 12th grader from Lam Son Senior High School for Gifted Students in the central province of Thanh Hoa , bagged a gold medal.
There were also five Vietnamese students securing silver medals, including 11th grader Ngo Phi Long from the northern mountainous province of Son La , and four 12th grade students: Dinh Ngoc Hai, Dinh Viet Thang, Nguyen Dinh Vinh Thanh from the northern provinces of Ha Nam , Nam Dinh and Vinh Phuc respectively and Tran Tan Hoang Bao from Da Nang City .
Two bronze medals were carried off by two 12th graders from Hanoi and Nam Dinh province. All the winners are students from schools for gifted students.
At last year's competition, the Vietnamese team took two bronze medals and three certificates of merit. KTDT |
