The Ministry of Health released that the whole country will implement the national action month on HIV/AIDS prevention 2011 with the theme: “Towards no new HIV infection” from November 10 to December 10.
So far, the number of accumulated HIV/AIDS infections diagnosed in localities is 243,900, of whom 98,400 are full-blown AIDS victims and 51,200 have died of the disease.
The national action month on HIV/AIDS prevention in Vietnam is one of activities to attract interest and intensify responsibility of the community on HIV/AIDS prevention on the world day on AIDS prevention (December 1 st )
At the same time, the mass media also campaign to change the behavior of people to help them prevent themselves from being infected and how to access prevention services, care and HIV/AIDS treatment. The month of action expects to raise awareness and change bad behavior and increase HIV infection prevention, especially for vulnerable people who live in remote areas and also those who are ethnic minority groups.
