Vietnamese police have suspended investigation into 37-year-old blogger and freelance reporter Le Nguyen Huong Tra who was arrested for posting online “distorting information” about a vice police minister, Thanh Nien reported.

According to police, the decision was made after the People’s Supreme Procuracy concluded Ha has a good record and well cooperated with police during investigation process.
The police said Tra, known as Co Gai Do Long in her blog, had published some entries on her blog with damaging information about the family of a deputy minister of public security, which affects the reputation of people involved.
She was earlier charged with “abusing democracy and freedom of the rights of speech, damaging the interests of the State and legal rights of organizations and individuals” under the Criminal Code on October 23, 2010.
Tra is a freelance reporter for several Ho Chi Minh City-based newspapers. Her blog, now closed, was listed among the most viewed blogs in Vietnam.
