Eleven babies born to Vietnamese women who were tricked into surrogacy in Thailand were sent to Taiwan to their blood parents Sunday, An Ninh Thu Do (Capital Security) reported.

The children, including two pairs of twins, had been brought up at the Vietnam Women’s Union's welfare center in Hanoi before being returned to the Taiwanese families following approval from the Ministry of Justice and related agencies.

The women had been rescued in February when the Thai police raided an illegal surrogacy service and found young women from several Asian countries hired or tricked into bearing children for Taiwanese couples.
