A seminar was held in the northern city of Hai Phong on October 6 to collect opinions on the draft report reviewing the results of the programme on state administrative reform in during 2001-2010 and the introduction of another programme for the 2011-2020 period.
The seminar was co-organized by the Interior Ministry and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Over the past 10 years, administrative reforms have been carried out comprehensively by improving regulations, reforming administrative mechanisms, training civil servants, and also making public administrative reforms.
Dinh Duy Hoa, head of the Administrative Reform Department under the Interior Ministry said that despite improvements in administrative management, there remain shortcomings in terms of the qualifications and calibre of civil servants.
The Prime Minister recently asked the Interior Ministry to collect opinions from the relevant agencies to review the programme on state reforms over the 2001-2010 period.
