The Secretary General of Vietnam Communist Party, Nguyen Phu Trong, will pay a five-day visit to China (October 11-15) to improve bilateral relations, the foreign ministry spokesman said at a press conference Thursday.
Luong Thanh Nghi said that during the visit, Trong will meet with Chinese high-ranking officials to discuss ways to strengthen ties in various fields like economy, trade, investment and education.
“Sea issues will be discussed in an honest and straightforward manner,” Nghi was quoted as saying in Tuoi Tre Friday.
“Settling East Sea disputes is a long, difficult and complicated process that needs objective and practical approaches from both parties,” he said.
