Vietnam’s Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are among the 30 most liveable Asian locations, according to the latest Location Ratings for expatriate living conditions published by ECA International, which provides solutions for the management and assignment of employees around the world.
In this year’s Asia ranking, HCMC remains in 21st spot while Hanoi drops one place to 22nd.
The annual rating evaluates a host of factors to form an assessment of the overall quality of living in over 400 locations worldwide.
They include climate, availability of health services, housing and utilities, isolation, access to a social network and leisure facilities, infrastructure, personal safety, political tensions, and air quality.

Once again, Singapore is the most liveable city, with its low crime rate and excellent infrastructure.
Singapore also tops the global ranking, followed by Sydney and then Brisbane and Adelaide in joint 3rd position.
HCMC is in 133rd place and Hanoi is in 136th.
Baghdad and Kabul share the position of least liveable location, followed by Port au Prince in Haiti.
