Vietnam’s coach Phan Thanh Hung thinks that the country’s Olympic football team remains buoyant about qualifying for the 2012 London Olympic Games despite the teams loss of 2-0 to Saudi Arabia in the first leg of the match at Abha on June 19.

The team will play Saudi Arabia again for the second leg of the match at My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi on June 23.
Coach Hung regrets that the Vietnamese team failed to score goals in the last match even when they had several chances.
By losing the match at Abha, Vietnam is in a deadlock because if they get a ticket to move on, they still need to score three times to progress further. Coach hung believes that winning will not be easy for Vietnam as the players must restore their health in a very short time.
Hung thinks that the team has a 50 percent chance of winning owing to the players exhausted state. He however does not want to put undue pressure on the team.
Speaking before the match, Hung said that although the team is exhausted they are still brimming with confidence.
This week 12 winning teams will be split into three groups of four for qualifying in the final round, with the three top winners automatically qualifying for entry to the London Olympics.
The second runner up team will play against the African confederation for another ticket to the Games.
