Vietnam finishes in Top 20 at Chinese pageant

On Tuesday Vietnamese’s representative, Le Huynh Thuy Ngan, finished in the Top 20 at the final round of this year’s Miss Tourism Queen International 2011 pageant, held in Xi'an, China.

On Tuesday Vietnamese’s representative, Le Huynh Thuy Ngan, finished in the Top 20 at the final round of this year’s Miss Tourism Queen International 2011 pageant, held in Xi'an, China.

According to beauty pageant-focused magazine Global Beauties’ website, the Vietnamese beauty ranks 15th in the Top 20.

Kantapat Peeradachainarin from Thailand was crowned the winner, while Jeanine Castro from Brazil and Mariia Ovechkina from Belarus won the first and second runner-up titles respectively.

One day before the final round, the 20-year-old woman from Vietnam also beat 91 other contestants to become the Internet Popularity Queen, with 28,810 votes.

Standing 1.72m tall, Ngan possesses the vital statistics of 90-60-89. She is pursuing an English Major at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology.

In 2009, Ngan won the first runner-up title at the Vietnam Jewelry Beauty Queen pageant.

One year later, she finished in the Top 20 at Miss Vietnam 2010.

The young woman has also been featured in several TV movies, including “Nguoi mau” (Models) and “Theo dau huong xua” (Follow the fragrance of the past).

First held in 2004, the pageant is an annual China-based event which attracts around 90 beauties from all over the world each year.

It was not held in 2010 due to Typhoon Megi.
