Vietnam won the gold medal in the men’s team blitz and the silver medal in the women’s blitz at the Asian Chess Championships in China that finished on Saturday.
Vietnamese men and women also brought home two bronze medals in the standard chess category.
In the standard chess contests, the Vietnamese men had five wins over teams from Mongolia, Taiwan, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong and the Republic of Korea, two draws against India and Iran, and two losses to hosts China. The achievements earned Vietnam third place behind China and India.
The Vietnamese women did no less and finished in third behind China and India.
