Vietnam disqualified from 2012 BWF Thomas Cup

Vietnam has lost to Taiwan in the final match of the 2012 Badminton World Federation (BWF)’s Thomas Cup being held in Macau (China) from February 13-19.

In the individual events, Vietnam’s top badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh easily thrashed world No.32 Hsu Jen Hao in two sets (21-18 and 21-18) in only 42 minutes but his team mates Ha Anh lost 0-2 (2-21, 6-21) to Hsuan and Hoang Nam 1-2 to Yu Lin.

In the doubles events, Bang Duc/Manh Thang and Hoang Nam/Bao Duc were also defeated by the Taiwanese opponents.

With two losses against China and Taiwan at the tournament, the Vietnamese team was disqualified from the Cup competition.
