Nhan Dan- The Communist Party of China (CPC) was founded 90 years ago on July 1, 1921. Over the past 90 years, the Chinese people have overcome countless difficulties and hardships to win great victories of historical significance in their revolutionary cause for national liberation and for building socialism.

Vietnam and China are two neighbouring countries which share many historical and cultural similarities and a time-honoured friendship. Vietnam always attaches importance to consolidating and strengthening the friendship and traditional co-operation between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the CPC as well as the two peoples, which had been fostered by President Ho Chi Minh, President Mao Zedong and generations of revolutionaries in the two Parties and countries.

The communists and people of Vietnam sincerely thank the communists and people of China for their support and great assistance they have given to Vietnam’s national construction and defence. The two countries stood side by side in their struggles for national independence and freedom, together continuing both countries' reforms and open-door process to build socialism. The two peoples have united, helped each other and shared precious experiences in development, step by step deepening their friendship and bilateral co-operation.

The high ranking leaders of the two countries agreed to develop a comprehensive strategic co-operative partnership under the motto of “friendly neighbourliness, comprehensive co-operation, long-lasting stability, and looking forwards to the future” in the spirit of “good neighbours, good friends, good comrades, and good partners.” The strengthened mutual understanding and trust between the two Parties, States and peoples of Vietnam and China is an important guarantee contributing to boosting the traditional friendship, comprehensive co-operation and trust between the two countries in order to resolve the problems left over from history, as well as newly emerging issues, for the benefit of the two people, and for peace, stability, co-operation and development in the region and the world.

The Special Envoy of Vietnam’s high-level leaders, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ho Xuan Son, met with Chinese State Councillor Dai Bingguo in Beijing on June 25 to convey the Vietnamese leaders’ opinions regarding bilateral relations and the recent situation in the East Sea.

After the meeting, the two sides issued the joint press release saying that both sides consider the relationship between Vietnam and China is developing in a healthy and stable manner, striving to meet the common aspirations and fundamental interests of the Vietnamese and Chinese people and benefiting peace, stability and development in the region.

The two sides underlined the need to persist in steering the comprehensive Vietnam-China strategic co-operative partnership to develop in line with the motto of “friendly neighbourliness, comprehensive co-operation, long lasting stability and looking forward to the future” as “good neighbours, good friends, good comrades and good partners.”

The two sides emphasised the necessity to actively implement the common perception of their leaders to peacefully resolve the disputes between the two countries at sea through negotiation and friendly consultation, employing effective measures and working together to maintain peace and stability in the East Sea.

On the 90th anniversary of the Communist Party of China, the Communist Party and people of Vietnam congratulate China on the achievements it has recorded over the past 30 years of the country’s reform and open-door process. Vietnam firmly believes that, under the leadership of the CPC, the Chinese people will surely gain greater achievements in its cause of open-door reforms, building Chinese style socialism, successfully fulfilling the targets and tasks of the twelfth five-year plan, and develop a well-off and harmonious socialist society. We hope that the traditional friendship and comprehensive co-operation between the two Parties, States and peoples of Vietnam and China will be unshakable and last forever.
