Vietnam competes in Asian volleyball tourney

Nhan Dan Online – The PTCS team is representing Vietnam at the 2012 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championships, which are taking place in Shanghai, China from June 30 to July 8.

The team got off to a good start at the tournament with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Afghanistan (25-0, 25-0, and 25-0) in their opening match on Saturday.

As scheduled, PTCS will take on China’s Shanghai Tang Dynasty in a crunch encounter tomorrow.

This nine-day event has brought together 15 teams from across Asia, which are divided into groups A, B, C and D. The Vietnamese team has drawn to play in group A along with Afghanistan and Shanghai Tang Dynasty (China).

The participants will be competing in a round robin format to decide the top two teams from each group that will qualify for the next round.

The overall champions will represent the continent in the 2012 World Club Volleyball Championships.
