The V&H Corporation of Vietnam will build the Lower Sekong Hydroelectric-Power Plant with a design capacity of 80MW in Laos.
A memorandum of understanding on this project was signed in Vientiane on August 26.
Signatories were Nguyen Van Minh, Deputy General Director of the Hoang Anh Gia Lai Joint Stock Company, representing V&H Corporation, and Thongmi Phomvisay, Lao Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment.
Currently, V&H Corporation is completing exploration and survey activities to report to the Lao Government and implement the project.
Together with Nam Cong Hydroelectric Power Plants 2 and 3, the Lower Sekong Hydroelectric-Power Plant is expected to contribute to electricity generation, and job placement, poverty reduction and budget contribution to Laos.
