Vietnam is joining nearly 60 countries at the 18th annual Travel and Vacation Show which opened in Ottawa city on March 10.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Canada participates in this annual event to promote the image of Vietnam, its land and people to Canadians and international friends.
For the first time this year the embassy has invited Hanoi-based Ky Nguyen tourism and trading company to attend the show.
This is a major tourism event, and from this year we will invite Vietnamese travel operators to take part in the show to introduce Vietnam’s tourism services as well as diverse and colourful images of the country’s land and people to Canadians, said ambassador Le Sy Vuong Ha.
Pham Xuan Nhat, director of Ky Nguyen, said his company’s participation is part of its development strategy in the Northern American market and Canada in particular.
On the opening day, hundreds of visitors, including Ottawa mayor Jim Watson, called on the Vietnamese stand, inquiring about tourism products and services.
Notably, Canada’s major travel operators such as Tours Hai International and Voyages Symone Brouty are presenting Vietnamese tours, drawing the participation of visitors.
Nocolas Theriault, a visitor who has travelled to Vietnam’s Ha Long Bay, the capital Hanoi, Nha Trang city and HCM City, said he is impressed by the country’s natural beauty and the people’s hospitality.
The show ends on March 11 (local time).
