VGP – Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Ha, Director General of the Foreign Ministry’s Department of International Law and Treaties was appointed as the member of the Vietnam Sub-Committee of the Coordinating Committee for Coastal and Offshore Geoscience Programmes in East and Southeast Asia (CCOP).
CCOP, established in 1966 under the auspices of ESCAP, is an Intergovernmental Organization focused on regional geo-scientific aspects.
It has devoted itself to coordination of, and cooperation in, scientific activities related to coastal and offshore geological/geophysical surveys, regional map compilation and database development, human resources development and technology transfer. There are four fields of interests: energy, mineral resources, coastal zone management and geohazards.
CCOP consists of 11 member countries namely Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
