(CPV) – Over the past five years, the Vietnam Study Promotion Society has mobilized over 1000 billion VND to present scholarships and gifts to nearly 4 million poor students who may drop out of school.
The society has also provided thousands of sets of textbooks and books, hundreds of tones of food, and thousands of items of clothes to students who met difficulties in their lives such as floods or failure of crops.
Hundreds of children were presented wheel chairs or necessary learning tools. Thousands of bicycles were provided to children who live far from schools.
The society also contributed to transferring the present textbooks from the 9th to 12th grade into the Braille for the blind; encouraged people to build and upgrade schools, tables and desks; establish libraries in communes and precincts.
In localities, the society coordinated with organizations and schools to establish cooperation programmes to assist students during non-school hours.
