HANOI - The Vietnam Software Association (VINASA) on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) in a bid to deepen cooperation between the two countries in the sector of information technology and communications.

The two sides want to consult each other on the development orientation of IT services, bolster cooperation relationship between Vietnamese and South Korean IT enterprises, train IT labor forces, especially info security specialists, and jointly organize seminars and forums on IT development orientations.

It will make the first step to further cooperation development between Vietnam and South Korea in the IT sector in general and in information and Internet security in particular. Internet security has emerged as the one of the biggest concerns for governments after a series of hacker attacks recently, said Suh Jong Ryeol, KISA’s chairman.

Besides, the MOU will enable South Korean IT enterprises to penetrate into Vietnamese market and vice versa. KISA will make every effort to support the cooperation relationship between South Korean IT enterprises and their Vietnamese peers, he continued.

“By joining hands with KISA, VINA will gain experience in building development strategies in the field of IT services,” said Pham Tan Cong, vice chairman of VINASA.

Moreover, member enterprises of VINASA will have more cooperation opportunities with their South Korean business partners, Cong added.
