(VOV) - Education for Nature Vietnam (ENV), the first non-governmental organization of Vietnam, launched its Wildlife Protection Alliance program on March 7.
The program’s key members are businesses that operate in Vietnam and pledge to prevent violations related to wildlife. So far, 30 businesses in northern, central and southern Vietnam have got involved in the program.
ENV calls on enterprises nationwide, especially those in big cities such as Hanoi, Danang, and HCMC, to take part in the program with the aim of raising their staff’s awareness of the importance of protecting wildlife.
Nguyen Thi Phuong Dung, Director of a program to minimize the consumption of wildlife, confirms that ENV is committed to joining its partners in promoting changes in public behaviour regarding the protection of nature and wildlife in Vietnam.
Each day, thousands of wild animals are hunted from their habitat and turned to specialties or traditional medicine to meet increasing demand in both domestic and overseas markets.
